The cyber threat landscape is constantly changing. With hybrid-working now the norm and cybercriminals continually adapting their techniques, it’s no surprise that 48% of small and 59% of medium sized businesses were the target of a cyber breach last year, according to a recent NCSC survey.

With so much data at stake, one successful attack can cause maximum damage. Cybersecurity can feel costly, complicated, and confusing. And as a result, many don’t have the protection they need. But there are plenty of ways to overcome this.

Join CyberSmart, industry experts and your channel peers to find out how. In this virtual showcase, discover how to quantify risk effectively and confidently in an ever-evolving landscape. And, most importantly, deliver first-class cybersecurity services to your clients.

What is the proposed UK regulatory regime for MSPs and what it means for me

The session will outline UK Government’s legislative proposals for digital service providers, including the measure to bring managed service providers into UK NIS legislation. We will explore the scope of the proposed interventions and associated duties the industry will be expected to follow. The session will further focus on the implications these changes will have in practice for those in scope and suggest steps organisations can take before changes officially take place.

Panel Discussion - Time to Fight Back: The Changing Face of Cyber Insurance

Historically, insurers have a reputation for making industries safer. However, the current ‘insure-then-protect’ model is fundamentally flawed, leading to higher policy costs and less coverage, with many smaller businesses being priced out. Through a panel discussion with industry leaders, we’ll discuss the future of cyber insurance and what needs to happen for the industry to thrive and protect businesses.
  • Understand some of the shortcomings that have historically plagued the cyber insurance industry.
  • Gain insight into the dynamics, both positive and negative, that will shape the cyber insurance industry.
  • Discover the reasons in favour of making cybersecurity a condition to gaining insurance.
  • Learn about the importance of standardising the minimum cybersecurity requirements and how we - the industry and government - can facilitate that.
  • Determine how we can better assess organisational cyber risk.

Break out session 2: The implications and practical responses to ransomware

Ransomware is increasingly being reported as a major disruption and existential threat in various industries, often manifested as double-extortion attacks. There is no shortage of guidelines and best practices for preventing such attacks, yet they still take place. In this workshop we explore industry perceptions, experiences and implications for MSPs, SMEs and supply chains with regards to ransomware. Our goal is to identify the challenges, the perceived importance of specific business operations and security services, and the practical responses to ransomware attacks.
